[PEDA] Protel 99 se (format "%x" invalid or incompatible with argument)

When I update pcb from sch I get error message "format "%x" invalid or
incompatible with argument"
I have fully reinstalled Protel after uninstalling Protel 99se, removing all
config files
in Win directory as well.(dpl and bpl files as well)

It has allways worked on slower machines (pentium P4)but has
never worked properly on a new core 2 computer

I have tried following "fixes" from other users (via web) but am am
unsucessfull.
Can anybody please help
