Subject: [PEDA] Many parts, slow Protel
[PROTEL 99 SE]
Another my problem with this version of Protel is slow performance when many
parts are loaded into PCB designer (sounds obvious).
My computer has 1.7GHz Celeron, 256MB RAM, not That bad; I have loaded over
600 parts on PCB; now when I drag-and-drop a part, the enviroment freezes
for about 3 seconds (paralyzing my work!). I have turned off all on-line
DRC, but it didn't improved the performance.
Question:
Is there a possibility to "turn off" parts that I am not currently using? So
all on-line chceckings and so one would be applied only to some small part
of whole project? What Protel is checking so long if DRC is turned off?
Regards,
JM
