[PEDA] Routing Algorithms!!!

Dusan,
You mention the PCB West or East conferences and yes they would be relatively expensive for an individual but there is no better deal around in terms of what you can learn. Besides the direct learning it is also an ideal opportunity to network and build relationships with other designers. It is also quite cheap (30% or so) in terms of what it would cost you to take the same course when they are offered individually.

Expensive is relative and in relative measures the PCB Design Conferences are very cheap for the bang that you can get from them if you truly go there to learn and advance yourself.

Outside of that there are a very few university/colleges/private firms (in the US, I don't know where you are located) offering train courses and programs but they aren't cheap either.

In my opinion, your quest for books that help you develop routing skills may come up short of satisfactory as well. Typically the books that are around will address the specifics of certain design issues but don't really directly teach you how to just route those designs. They typically teach the detailed design concerns and technicalities of a particular design but do little to actually show you routing techniques. The actual routing techniques is largely a self-taught/experience issue across the board. Almost nobody teaches a human actual routing algorithms.

Another website that may point you in some useful directions is: www.pcbwizards.com
Bill has some reasonably good references and materials under his "PCB Design" tab.

Sincerely,
Brad Velander

Subject: [PEDA] Routing Algorithms!!!

Hello,

I'm working in Protel 99SE for about an year. All my routing are done
manualy and there is a few boards behind me that were pretty complicated.
Anyway I want to improve my routing skills. I searched internet for a while
but didn't find any book or article that will acomodate what I'm looking
for. I saw an EAST and WEST PCB conference but can't afford it. I see that
there are some great classes and I was wondering how come there is no
literature that is being used in those classes available on internet.

I wont to learn. So if there is someone that can give me some advice it
would be great.

Thanks!
