If you are the webmaster of this InternetConnect Virtual Webhosting Account, please review the instrucitons included in the documentation faxed to the administrative contact as listed by you/your organization on the webhosting order form submitted to InternetConnect.
Your website is either accessible via FTP or Microsoft FrontPage
depending on your selection on the order form you submitted. The login username &
password is also on the fax sent to you when done. Please note: FrontPage server
extensions are only available by request on the webhosting order form
submitted by you/your organization.
If you have yet to receive a fax containing usage instructions, e-mail hostmaster@internetconnect.net
with your domain name in the Subject: text box or call 1-800-896-7467,
Ext. 6506--announcing your domain name to request your documentation.
This web page is a file called index.html and it is located in the public_html/ directory upon logging in. When logging in via FTP, replace this file with your first web page. It can be called index.html or index.htm, but only one index file per directory may exist; if you have an index.htm file, do not keep index.html or vice versa. FrontPage users can publish content without being concerned with the public_html directory however, please note that "default.html" or "default.htm" should be renamed to index.htm or index.html (one or the other, not both).
Logged traffic statistics regarding your website is available by adding usage/ to your URL (web address). So if your site is called http://www.my-company.com/ then you would type http://www.my-company.com/usage/ to view traffic statistics.
You provide your own CGI scripts (for feedback forms, etc.); we recommend perl programs
available from Matt's Script Archive at http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/
as they are supported by our web servers. Upload them to public_html/ or any directory in it via FTP. The file permissions for the CGI script must be set to 755 (rwxr-xr-x). Using
WS_FTP, click the right mouse button to select a file and then left-mouse-button clicking "chmod (UNIX)". If
using CuteFTP, click on your file on our web server and hold down the [Ctrl] key and then the A key. Check boxes
in the window that appears as follows:
Owner = Read/Write/eXecute - Group = Read/blank/eXecute - Public (labeled 'Other' in WS_FTP) = Read/blank/eXecute
In CuteFTP, you can type 755 in the textbox to the right of Manual in that window and click OK.
Please note that SSI (Server-Side-Includes) are turned off for system security.
If you are modifying or writing your own CGI scripts in perl and need to know where perl or
sendmail is located, the exact paths are as follows:
Perl is in /usr/bin/perl
Sendmail is in /usr/sbin/sendmail
Your .pl file (perl script) must begin with the line #!/usr/bin/perl in order to work.
